イラン中南部に位置する産地です。この地の職人は古来より絹織物・ショール・刺繍などによる高度な染織技術を有していました。11世紀セルジューク朝頃から交易都市として栄えその後16世紀サファヴィー朝時代には宮廷工房が構えられ、この時代の絨毯の中には狩猟文様やペルシャ庭園の様式などが見られます。その後王朝が滅亡し一旦は絨毯産業も衰退するものの、19世紀にアメリカの企業がこの地に進出し、絨毯制作を復活させます。ショール産業で得たものづくりをベースに、絵画や花々を織り込んだ意匠を見事に表現しています。

This region is located in southeastern Iran. The artisans here have long history of advanced dyeing and weaving techniques, including silk textiles, shawls, and embroidery. From the 11th century, during the Seljuk period, it thrived as a trading city, and later, in the 16th century under the Safavid dynasty, royal workshops were established. Carpets from this period often feature hunting motifs and designs inspired by Persian gardens. After the fall of the dynasty, the carpet industry declined, but in the 19th century, American companies entered the region and revived carpet production. Building on the skills gained from the shawl industry, they skillfully incorporated paintings and floral designs into the carpets.
