Bakhtiyar

This term refers to a tribe with deep connections to the Luri people, considered one of the oldest tribes in Iran. They live in various regions around the Zagros Mountains, and while many have become settled, there are still people who continue their traditional nomadic lifestyle. In the carpets woven by the settled people, cotton is used for the warp, while those living a nomadic life typically use wool, which is sourced locally from their surroundings. The garden designs are characterized by grids featuring flowers and willow trees symbolizing love, often woven within the compartments. These are believed to represent everlasting utopia.
