Moghan Azerbaijan
The Shahsavan tribe, based in the Moghan Plain of Azerbaijan, has used sumak weaving for everyday items such as the mahrash (cloth bag) and khorjin (saddlebag for donkeys). This weaving technique, which intertwines warp by pattern threads, is characterized not only by its durability but also by its rich and beautiful patterns. Additionally, the pearl weave, which has been revived after 120 years, is a unique carpet of this region.
